Seriously though, he needs to register and win it!
Yep, good thing he has his BQ too.

I think you must have missed the interview with Salazar in which he said that in 2017 Rupp will focus on doing the 5000 & 10,000 at the WC in London, so see how fast he can go on the track without being slowed down by marathon training.
Is Rupp pulling in enough dollars from Nike that money isn't a factor? The money is in marathons not track.

I think he might enjoy a big extra influx of money from a major, but I definitely believe that he is willing to delay that payday another year or two. When that day comes, I don't think it will be Boston, but rather a fast course that pays big appearance fees, quite likely in Europe. 2014 is a year with no track Worlds, so that would be the year.
He already said he doesn't run for money. Considering how great of an athlete and representative he is, I wouldn't be surprised if Nike takes care of him.

Glad to hear that you agree with me (see above: "Yes")
Nevertheless, I believe his first non-championship marathon will be on a fast, legal course. Boston is neither.

Yes, 2014 is a year with no Worlds! With lots of hindsight, Rupp may start his built-up now. 😉. Better yet, he may also want to consider 2018, another (rumor has it) non-WC year!
Not eligible.
Neither the Trials nor the Olympic marathons are Boston qualifier eligible marathons.
Wonder which race he'll run to get his BQ
Yeah, because elites need BQ qualifiers!!
Ha, I got into Boston with a trail race.
