That is interesting. Also interesting that Rupp is ahead of Wheating and Centro on the indoor lists for the mile! I know Wheating was more of an 800 guy back then and really only raced to win in the last 200 of most races. Never chased time. I am a bit surprised that Centro didn't do faster. He ran 3:36 as a sophomore outdoors. I didn't recall Rupp going 1:49 indoors!
