Call me old fashioned, but I think getting thoroughly trashed at your significant other's work function is generally the "wrong" thing to do.

(2) people at the same function that follow LetsRun? I don't think so.
Stop posting and answering yourself.

Dude, if true, this is great news. Given women's tendency to bring up all sorts of irrelevant sh!t about you from the past, when arguing about anything, you have some excellent ammunition to fight back with. Bask in the glow of moral superiority.

Speaker of the truth.
i'd say judging your wife and apologizing on her behalf is old-fashioned, yeah.
There were three people who are LRC posters at the same event? The OP, coincidence and waitstaff, riiiiiight.
Well at least your wife can blame the alcohol. What's your excuse?
that is the same city, sounds like her.
Umm, he didn't say what city. 0/10. You wrote both posts, right? But forgot to put the city in the waitstaff user post. Nice try anyways.

Is that really how far you got before you realized?
We had two glasses of wine at the reception before dinner and by the time the food was served she was gonezo. She had a hard time eating, faded eyes, said some embarrassing things, got up twice in the middle to leave for the bathroom.
How many drinks total? You said you guys had two glasses of wine @ the reception but by the time the food was served, how many more drinks? Hard to believe your wife got "drunk" on just two glasses of wine. What were the embarrassing things she said? Hard time to eat, faded eyes & leaving to go to the bathroom does not constitute being drunk. Please back up your evidence before calling out your wife on an anonymous running board. Just saying.

yes, good point. 40%
I would say to act like nothing happened. I'm a young guy, never married, but from the stories I've heard from my parents, aunts, uncles, and grandmother, it seems like stories like yours are fairly common. People get a little drunk at inappropriate times/occasions and shiit happens. As long as it's not a regular thing, I wouldn't worry about it, and your coworkers will probably damn near forget the whole thing by a month from now. Don't apologize. Don't even acknowledge anything weird occurred.
Talk to your wife about it but don't make it a big deal.

That is odd. I was at my wife's work dinner and when I went to the bathroom a woman stumbled in and came on to me, clearly tipsy, I told her no and tried to get her back to her table but she could not even remember who she came with. It was sad. I finally left her with the waitstaff for fear I would miss my wife getting her award recognition. I wonder if that was your wife. What city/hotel was this at. I was in Houston.
Sounds like this is legit after all.
Update guys. Well, today my wife said she know longer loves me and wanted to have a trail separation. She said the drinking was a symptom of her unhappiness?
How should I play this at work? I'm kinda embarrassed by the hole thing.
Appalachian or Pacific Crest?

while this doesn't quite match the "quaker steak and lube" story, it reinforces why, despite all the crap, letsrun is still worth wasting time on. thank you OP, this is one of the better troll efforts in the last several months. I'm still chuckling, well done.

Continental Divide Trail is only correct answer. It not only separates a continent, it separates this couple.
