Wife got drunk at a work thing last night and acted a fool. How do I play it today?

You need to have much more concern for the well being of your wife, and not so much for the people at work.

Besides that, going to parties and drinking with people from work sounds like a dumb thing to do.

Surely it was all in her mind. Alcohol has no effect on human performance and the fact that people think it does is just a huge con by the alcoholic beverage companies.

That is odd. I was at my wife's work dinner and when I went to the bathroom a woman stumbled in and came on to me, clearly tipsy, I told her no and tried to get her back to her table but she could not even remember who she came with. It was sad. I finally left her with the waitstaff for fear I would miss my wife getting her award recognition. I wonder if that was your wife. What city/hotel was this at. I was in Houston.

I think I know this woman. I was working banquets as a table waiter and had to call my boss over because this woman was sloppy drunk, security finally had her call her husband by phone to come and get her. Funny thing, at first security thought she was a 'working girl' because she had sat down at the main bar and was acting inappropriately and wanted free drinks for favors. She was finally able to spit out that her husband was there at a work function. She was inches away from being escorted off the property.

that is the same city, sounds like her. Thanks for helping out. Think I will not say anymore or it will end up outing ourselves and that was not my intent.

Give her 2 glasses of wine per day to build her tolerance of you.

Don't ever apologize for your wife.

A) You don't have authority to apologize for her.

B) She didn't do anything wrong.

At a work function years ago with my buddy/colleague and our wives. His wife disappears for probably an hour, seemed longer. He gets strange looks from a few fellas when he asks if anyone has seen her. She returns, very sloshed and loud with some story about getting lost in the hotel garden. The hotel did not even have a garden. My wife goes with her to the ladies room for them to clean up and tells me later that night that his wife had her panties in her handbag and told her a completely different story about dancing at a wedding at the hotel. There was no wedding at the hotel that night.

There is awkward and then there is awkward. Better to just leave well enough alone, say nothing, learn nothing.

Seems like she just got s bit drunk. Nothing to worry about really.

I remember a few years ago a colleague brought his wife along to some office drinks. Her and one of admin girls got really out of it and were running about flashing their tits at everyone.

Most of us thought this was hilarious but my colleague was obviously not impressed. They had a blazing row and both stormed out.

On the Monday morning he went for the 'her drink was spiked' defense. Nobody believed him. In reality we are all a bit jealous because his wife had a lovely set out of tits.

Anyway, they are divorced now.
