Big PR for Hill.
Kejelcha always looks lost in races, it would not surprise me if he really was only 18.
I guess nobody can claim Hill doesn't have the strength for fast races any more. 13:05 is right up there with Rupp/True at their best.
and MO AHMED 13:10.00 CANADIAN RECORD!
NR for Mo Ahmed?

Yeah, could you run anywhere near 13:09? Long season, not his event.

Great job by Ryan Hill. I'd say he showed plenty of backbone.

I think he's referring to Galen. Went out with the pacers and ended up with a bad place because of it. If his goal was just to be the first place American he would have ran different.

Yeah, could you run anywhere near 13:09? Long season, not his event.
Why does the 5K PR of some anonymous poster affect whether or not that is a bad performance by Rupp?
In any objective measure, Rupp has to be severely disappointed (and I will agree, even devastated) by today's result.
There is no way to sugar coat today and I guarantee that if Rupp and Salazar would have known in advance how it would turn out then he would have been a DNS.

Agreed. The 5k is NOT Rupp's event. He needs to stop running it.
That 60 second 8th lap is what should have been done in the WC final. Blew apart the field.
Great Race by Mo. Him and Hill ran real smart, dangling off the back of the pack reminiscent of Ritz's sub 13:00

Long season????? Isn't Rupp the top American 5K runner coached by, what many consider, one of the best coaches in the world? They both thought he was in shape to get the record. Why make excuses for him?
