Hi everyone, I'm in need of some help/tips from past experiences... I'm not sure what to do anymore. I have ITBS in both legs (diagnosed by doctor, athletic trainer and PT agree). It was diagnosed in late fall after I was training for a half marathon, which I was not able to run. They think it's the usual combo over overtraining/weak glutes and hips. I stopped running and have been in physical therapy since January.. they've given me clamshells, leg lifts, fire hydrants etc. which I have been doing for three months, but I'm in the same pain I was in when this all started (even just walking around) and I don't even do anything besides walk to class and at work at this point. I use a foam roller at least twice a day as well. I don't really know what to do anymore, and am super discouraged because A. it's in both legs, B. I've been doing everything I've been told by the PT and it's not getting even a little better C. running is my all time favorite thing to do-- I can't imagine giving it up and am afraid that's what might have to happen. Anyway, I'm looking for any tips from runners who have had ITBS for a long time and recovered from it or at least have been able to get it under control somewhat. Thanks so much in advance.. looking forward to hearing from anyone! :)
