This girl posted a youtube video showing a 20-mile workout she did at the end of a 118 mile week. 118 MILES! She's a HS senior. That is ridiculous.
She needs to cut 30 seconds per mile to make the team. If she were ever to even break 2:32 it will be on a wind-aided course in 45-degree weather.
Dad has been training her since she was 5 or 6 years old. Running Times did an article (June 2011) of her mileage progression, long runs, workouts, PRs on a yearly basis. With her training age, she is about as close to her ceiling as one can imagine.
