I'll be honest. I'm impressed. Good race, moved up the last few miles.

Yeah, Meb is the man. Anyone in there right mind would know he wasn't going to finish first or second, but I think he had a really good race.
He would have done better if he had stayed at the back of the pack and let the other runners back the wind for him.
Whether his strategy was ideal here, you just have got to love Meb for competing in every marathon where he is healthy, and coming up with a high place. Meb does not disappoint.

I guess he makes too much $ to get a mention for the Let's Run Blue Collar Award.
Full time shoe salesman and fashion model does not count as working two jobs to get by?
;)
Meb is a racer and is never content to just cruise it in for appearance money. He always runs people down or runs away at the end. How many marathon finishes and how many of those are top 5 finishes? The ones where he finished out of the top 5 are:
1.He was injured or had food poisoning.
2.Crazy fast marathon where he still ran 2:10 or better.
Given the modern era of the marathon, he is probably better than Shorter, Rodgers, or Salazar. Each have more wins, but against lesser competition.
Is Meb's success deluding us about American marathoning?
Our best guy is nearly 40. The other guys get top 10 but top 10 passing a bunch of fading guys means we don't have anyone competitive in the marathon except for Meb.
Meb can't keep carrying US marathoning when he's 45.
Would have thought Vail could have hung on to the back of the lead pack longer.
I couldn't believe he was running in front most of the way. Especially after saying in an interview just before the start that he wouldn't. Even though I feel he would have bettered himself had he remained in the pack, that was still an incredible performance! Go Meb!

How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
