The wind looks tough for Sunday (15-20mph head wind). Any tips for running in such conditions?

Sign up for Philly now so you still have a chance of running a good time?
Aside from adjusting your pace 5 seconds slower / mile and drafting off other runners as much as you can, there's not a lot you can do.
The cross-winds on the bridges should be fun! Stay with the pacemakers.

Very helpful comment for anyone running under 3 hours.
I had the same question about the wind. Has anyone had experience running with a similar headwind. How much of an adjustment in pace per mile is appropriate with a 15 - 20 mph headwind if you're planning on running 6:30 per mile pace?
Thanks
Any wind out of the north kills that course. I'd consider the philly option.

You sound like a real puszy.
One more vote for Philly. Just eat the $200 entry fee and cancel whatever your plans were for this weekend in NYC.
Actually, writing that out makes it look like a pretty stupid idea. Find a big pack and get in the back. If the pack starts to slow, target a new one ahead. Leap frog up the field, from the back of one big pack to another. Don't help lead or block wind in any of these packs. Every man for himself and your unwise bravado will only bite you in the end.

In other words, pretend you're EPOian.

I can't stress this enough, I tried to break 3 hours in NYC last year with the same headwind situation and its damn near impossible to run to your fitness level.
If I were you I'd sign up for Philly and run NYC as a workout, unless you aren't looking for a PR....
Forget your own time goals, find an attractive single female, and offer to block the wind for her.

Have you given up stalking tennis players and gone into coaching?
By the way, is this you?

Hey I raised a good amount of $$ for a great charity and unfortunately running with Wozniacki didn't work out. I've been giving people helpful running advice for years now and I don't plan to stop. I'm still going to have a great time in NYC this weekend running in front of my hometown friends and family, so despite all of the forecasted wind you still can't rain on my parade.

Hahaha, wow, what a shock! I hope the restraining order still allows you to run the NYC Marathon.

The forecast is for wind, not rain. Idiot.

You are the moron, I said it was forecasted for wind, raining on my parade is a figure of speech, a really clever one in this case since people joke that a marathon is a parade and this is a thread about wind. That sentence went right over your head so who's the real idiot here?
Most will choose an idiot over a creep. So you lose again.

The idiot is the guy who doesn't recognize obvious sacrasm. I wonder which of us that might be?
Hint: it is the one that referred to his own stupid joke(?) as "really clever".

More like the idiot is the one who clearly doesn't understand what the definition of sarcasm is. I'm done responding to you, you are a waste of time who hides behind a computer screen and insults people.

Right, we agree then. You.
Just remember not to get within 500 yards of Caroline Wozniacki this weekend.
I remember being on hand for the 1980 and 1982 races, both of which were very windy. Salazar managed to break 2:10 on both occasions.
You'll never believe who I bumped into in Central Park on Tuesday morning (pic)
