Hello all,
I am a high school cross country runner. I have a painful spot a few inches above my ankle on the inside shin (tibia). It hurts to press on that one spot and when I run, there is pain, but it is very minimal. I can hop on it without pain.. At first I thought it was just shin splints, but then I researched it and worried that it might be a stress fracture. I took about 2 weeks off and saw a doctor, who ordered an X-ray, which showed nothing(as i suspected). So i continued running, with that minimal pain still there. I've also been icing a ton and taking calcium and recently started taking ibuprofen. Today, I noticed a bruise on the spot where it usually hurts to press. It hurts more now to hop and run on it. I can walk on it painfree. Also, normally, I drink alot of milk, so I don't see how this happened?? I also increased mileage gradually.
Any help on what it is?
