In Tyler Hamilton's "The Secret Race", he says after a race he chugs a bunch of alka-seltzer to induce satiety, takes some melatonin, and falls asleep until the next day. One thing I wonder is, shouldn't he at least eat something small for recovery afterwards?
I'm running twice a day most days, and usually my first run at 7-8 am and second around 7-8 pm to avoid the heat. I've been trying to make my longer run in the morning, and jog 4-5 miles in the evening.
If I eat a proper breakfast after my morning run and a proper lunch and then maybe a snack in the afternoon, could I just go to sleep right after my evening run? Running does take away your appetite for a bit. Maybe I could eat something small like a bar and then immediately go to sleep? I don't know if I should mess with stuff like melatonin or ambient though. I'm trying to shed a few pounds and am wondering if this will work.
The next morning I'd probably eat something small like a banana before my morning run.
