My highschool coach discourages running more than 25 mpw, has us do 2 speed workouts a week starting 3 1/2 months before our most important race all the way until it, only wants us running 5 days a week in season and 3 days a week in off season, and thinks he knows everything in the world about producing good distance runners? I've told him that I don't think this is enough mileage and too much speed work. Should I just say screw you and do my own thing?
