Question for Renato Canova: do you still believe that Ferrari is a "good man"?
You say he was under oath. I am familiar with the case and certainly familiar with Armstrong and Ferrari. That is not throwing him under the bus. When you are under oath, you need to answer the question and answer with the truth.
Everybody has known for a long time that Ferrari managed the drugs, and that Bruyneel was aware of them. Bruyneel was a high-profile rider in the 90s as well.
I am surprised that Ferrari SOLD him the drugs, as I would want to insulate myself from that. Everything else would be hard to prove, but if you actually supply the drugs, much easier to get caught (which he didn't) and much easier to prove.
I am surprised that Ferrari appeared in "The Armstrong Lie" ... he knew what it was about and he gained NOTHING by appearing in it.
For those of you who would like Ferrari to face charges, realize that if they gave Ferrari the death penalty, there would be 14 more Spanish and Italian doctors to take his place in 15 minutes. There already are.
Also, don't believe that there aren't 60 Lance Armstrong's in distance running right now.
Ten years ago the guy that placed 2nd to Tergat (in his Berlin WR) was the rabbit in his first marathon and he ran 2:04:57 (and was the second sub-2:05 marathoner). Do you think he did that with "the new marathon training" people keep harping on about? It has only gotten worse since then.
