By how many seconds will Dejen Gebremeskel beat Galen Rupp at the NB Indoor Grand Prix?

Before anyone has a panic attack, I know Rupp beat Farah in the NB mile last year...WHEN FARAH FELL.

And after Farah had to get up and come through the back, indoors, Rupp was still only 0.8 ahead of him.

This clearly SUPPORTS my argument for Gebremeskel's dominating Rupp in two weeks, but I just wanted to cut off the inevitable fanboy chorus.

Naw, Gebremeskel is lazy and doesn't beat anybody by more than necessary. He will win for sure, but not by 2.5 seconds, whatever the pace.

If someone other than Gebremeskel wins or even takes the pace out, the gap could be huge as Dejen is chasing for the win and Rupp won't be able to hang on.

If Dej is the winner though, you're right he will probably not do it by more than he has to. The gap between him and Rupp would thus be deceptively small.

Either way, Rupp is getting beaten by at least one man on Feb 2.

So, you picked out your d-bag handle a few years ago. Rupp subsequently broke the AR, broke 27, broke 13 and won an Olympic silver medal, beating all of the Ethiopians and Kenyans in the race that EVERYONE was aiming for.

And yet, you do not seem to have noticed.

I think Dejen will beat Rupp by about a second. The 3k is much more in Dejens wheelhouse than Rupp's.

It depends if Rupp wears his mask.

With it, he wins by 1.5 seconds.

Without it, he loses by 6 seconds.

Yes, this is a consistent handle. At least I have the balls to pick one and stay with it. You obviously don't, do you? (You're A Duck, right? Same moronic tone.) It certainly hasn't been a few years, though.

Now, since reading comprehension doesn't seem to be your strong suit, let me help you out. I have probably written more positive comments on Rupp than many, many posters on this board. I have called him a great runner and referred to his monster strength and range many times. I'm just also frank about his limitations (e.g. when fanboys say he's going to do 3:28 or 26:16) and his actions (e.g. well-known rude treatment of other athletes).

If fanboys want to get upset about that, they're welcome to argue. Most, like you, have nothing to say.

Interesting that anyone would accuse Gebremeskel of doping, when Rupp's history is far more suspicious.

As an Olympic medalist and America's best runner, it's obvious I will post on him. But I post on everyone. Pay attention.

If anything, compared to me this board is obsessed with Rupp. I am far more likely than the average poster to bring up east African runners you forget about, for one thing. (How many threads on Rupp have you seen this month, and how many threads on Gebremeskel?)

And of course, I correctly predicted the Kenyan 2012 marathon team when only one other person did. (Employee #1.)

Gebrhiwet will lead with 1 mile to go and push the pace but the other two guys will stick on him like glue. Rupp takes the lead with 400 to go and gets passed by Gebrimeskel on the final lap to win by 0.2 seconds.
