You can't compare what they did in college to what they did in high school

Ohio State 1934. They got four WR holders who broke the WRs in a meet while representing Ohio State (a dual meet, at that). As for the ranking before they got to college, all were Number 1 ranked.

Remember you have to base recruiting classes on what they did in high school not college. When Andrew Wheating walked on to Oregon no one knew he was gonna be the star of the 2006 class. Everyone talked about the 6 Footlocker finalist they got instead.

I think you've got it right. People were excited about what Wheating had done off of such little training, but I'd agree there was more talk about Acosta, Klotz, Stout, and the mercado brothers.

I'm still not sure 2011 is better than 2006 though....ESPECIALLY when considering just high school results.

Absolutely, but that 2006 class had like 15 guys come in. People that were pretty decent in high school that no one even knows about...McNally, Carter, Dettmans, Waite, Scoggin....

Some of those guys were average..no doubt...but that class brought in like two full xc squads.

I think you're probably right in saying this new class is better - I'm just not sure it is completely clear cut.

And yes, Stanford has some nasty classes...not willing to do the work to figure who was what year though. I'm not sure Hall, Sage, Dobson etc.....were all in the same class.

Wisco got 1,7,8 out of the 2003 Footlocker Champiopnship in their 2004 recruiting class.

Waite and the Dettman's were not under the radar, they were scholarship guys. The only none scholarship guy to ever do damage on a national out of that class was Wheating.
