Has Running Affected Your SEX LIFE?

I was a runner for six years and finally took this whole academic year off. Before, I never used to get laid. Now my sex life is better than ever, especially since I never had one in the first place.

Running is bad for sex in most cases.

As a side note, just recently I started training again. Just a little bit, 1-2 miles a day at night. nice and relaxed after i walk my dog. Then I go and get some.

I had a steady girlfriend my last 2 years of college, and during XC she quite often accused me of cheating or not being attracted to her any more because of the lack of interest i was showing in that department. she was right - during the 90 mile weeks all i wanted to do was go to sleep and didn't have a lot of interest in putting in the effort for a shag.

i think it can probably be atributed to 1) plain old tiredness from running so much and 2) the decreased testosterone levels that come from running so much. don't really know what to tell you - maybe just have a talk with her about it and explain that once the marathon's over it'll get better.

I think it does have an effect. You lose more weight and nutrients. Try eating a little more if you can.

Funny. For three years in undergrad I ran a lot and never got laid. Finally in senior year I got a girlfriend and started getting some. Forgot about training and only ran sporadically. Still raced and all my PBs (800m-5,000m) came during the lay-off (pardon the pun).

Quite a few here agree taking ZMA (supplement with zinc + magnesium + one of the B vitamins) helps with recovery and increases morning wood. Anyone find it helped restore their sex drive and performance?

Never had a problem when I was younger. However, I've been trying to combine training with 70-80 hours of work during the week. I'm often pretty tired and would just rather sleep. I'm probably just getting old.

YES, the answer is yes it does.

Try fish oil, taking that daily has helped me. Keep both up (no pun intended).

Funny, I've been married for 17 years and dont really get any anymore. I want it but my wife doesnt. So, Ive taken up running again as a way to kill the sex drive and have a challenge that I enjoy to replace to lonliness I deal with. Ive lost 20 pounds and shaved 5 minutes off my 5K time since i started 3 months ago. ENJOY!!

wat sex life?

My experience has been that I don't have the energy to pursue it - I'd rather just go to sleep.

But I have been fortunate in that the last two of three ladies have had sex drives of 18 year old boys. They pursue it, and after a little (15 seconds) of affection from them - my interest grows. Next thing I know I all up in it!

My current GF (aggressive) has at times accused me of not being attracted to her or cheating on her. I'm just f'n tired. Plus I'm older, work hard and know the importance of sleep and recovery.

SOLUTION: Tell your significant other to initiate it every night for teh sake of your intimacy!

It's definitely improved my sex life. I'm in the mood more now and my wood is much stronger and lasts longer.
