So I'm in college, and we were having a little team bonding session. By little I mean it was fairly big and fairly loud, and there was a lot of alcohol present. Long story short, we got busted up, and while almost every minor managed to hide, 2 were caught. Now they got written up with MIP's by our campus safety, and my roommate and I got written up for providing a place for minors to consume.
All open containers of alcohol had to be dumped, in compliance with my schools alcohol policy. However, campus safety also went into our fridge and dumped our unopened containers of alcohol (cheap beer). The schools alcohol policy clearly states that "any unopened containers of alcohol will be allowed to remain in the apartment or room." So campus safety f***ed up and broke the schools rules, and I am assuming this means them dumping our unopened containers is illegal. Additionally, despite us being totally cooperative, the campus safety officer displayed behavior that fits our schools anti-harrassment policy as harrassment. I know people have gotten out of being written up for stuff like this, and I am assuming we could to. But I'm not just asking if we could get out of these charges because of this. I admit we were violating the schools alcohol policy, and deserve what we get. However, I am wondering what our options are with campus safety and how they reacted. What would you do? Any advice? Experiences similar to this? Thanks!
