I live in the Washington University area. What's the closest store?

Go to the WalMart. Good selection and cheap prices.
We are the closest store to you. Located at the Northeast corner of Delmar and North and South in University City. We just opened 7 weeks ago. But we have over 30 years combined experience in running specialty. Come check us out we'd love to help you with shoes, clothing, and training questions.

It is close, visit www.bigriverrunning.com
Thanks. It looks like Ghisallo is close and convenient. I'm all into having things close by.
Big River looks cool though. How far is it from Washington University? Manchester, MO?
Big River isnt that far. You would have maybe a 25-30 minute drive but its worth it. The guys who own it are great. Both a few years out of college, one just ran in the marathon trials. They know their stuff and are helpful. I would highly recommend it
Ditto on Big River Running. Great store, great service. Great running team you can join, too.
It's St. Louis. Nothing is really that far away.
No asics? Tsk-tsk!!
i am a big fan of the running center. its down big bend and right onto manchester. great selection of shoes and they have running clothes that appeal to actual runners, not joggers.
Running Center is hands down the best - those guys treat you right.
of the three stores mentioned above only Big River was named one of the Top 50 Running Stores in America. And it was based on their service, selection and community service. These guys know their stuff!
The running center is horrible. I went there and the guy who owns the store's son helped me. What a prick, he acted like he knew everything and treated me like I was an idiot. I doubt the guy even runs. Seriously, worst experience I've had hands down.
Doesn't Ghisallo mean "bicycle god"?
I personally think all the running stores in St. Louis suck. Although I have not been to this new Ghisallo place yet.....
Go to Craig Virgin's store.

Nice writing, douchebag.
It's the name Bell put on the helmet I own. Don't know what it means, looks Italian to me.

lame
Big River - has the best runners working there. They have a racing "team" with several of the better runners in StL. I'm not a big fan of the guys who run it, but that has nothing to do with the level of service or the quality of the store. They're doing a nice job bringing in the local HS runners.
Fleet Feet - caters to the local jogger more than runners. They don't know a lot about training or racing, but have a pretty fair selection. They run off a lot of local races.
Ghisallo Running - is the new kid on the block. They have several experienced local runners working there. I've never been there, but knowing who works there, I'd assume its a pretty good store.
The Running Center - is a good store that has had some nice runners working there throughout the years. They are fairly knowledgable but always have given me the "snooty" vibe. I've only been there once, so I'm not the most accurate person.
Marathon Sports - is a little hole in the wall that I have no idea how it stays open. They run off a few races, and have helped me out in the past. It just always seems empty. There's not a lot of selection there either.
If you're looking for convenience, then Ghisallo is the place that is closest to Wash U. If you don't care about how close a store is, you may want to check a couple of these places out. Like someone said about, it's St Louis, everything's close.
The knowledgeable and nice guys from the Running Center are the guys that opened up Ghisallo. Leaving the kid (owner's son) and some fat dude telling you what to buy now at the Running Center.
I just hope the Nike and Asics reps get a clue that Ghisallo is a classy place and that they need to be there. Great part of town!!
