Is he skipping the country?
It's because he's made his mark. The damage is done. He'll resurface in the campaign of Mitt Romney or Sen. Thompson and the madness begins again.
Rove is cutting and running again. He dodged serving in the military. Another "chickenhawk" College Republican.
Hey, Rove is smart enough to realize that Bush is the lamest of lame ducks. Why should a genius like Rove stick around a weak president? Rove's next move will probably be to join someone's campaign. He has shown that he's much better at campaigning than at making policy.
So the question is, which campaign will he join?
When he met Bush he decided that was someone he could make president. There are several candidates out there with much better qualitites/qualifications.
My guess would be Romney. Rove is not religous, so he isn't going to use religion as a criteria for the man he annoints. He just needs someone photogenic and pliable.
The GOP campaign will get pretty ugly as soon as Rove joins, but I think whoever he signs on with immediately become the GOP front-runner.
Can you imagine his payday?!
Try to find the account, in Rove's words, of the first time he met GWB. Then tell me he's not the Smithers to Dubya's Mr Burns.
Rove wants to spend more time with his family.
Spend time with his family, ha ha, good one.
It is unlikely he will work with another campaign. I may not like him but stupid he is not, and he has to realize he is far too closely associated with Bush and the problems plaguing him, and latching on to another campaign now would focus that attention on the new dandidate while that candidate tries to actually distance himself from Bush. I suspect that Rove will spend the rest of his life acting from behind the scenes, delivering speeches and writing books. But as a powere behind the throne, that is ending here.
Why are liberals insane with hatred for Karl Rove?
It's not like he goes around aborting babies for fun or something...... Oh wait. They like that.
Maybe he should.
He's leaving because he finally achieved his lifelong goal- a permanent Republican majority in Washington.

All hyperbole aside, Karl Rove is a zillion times worse than abortion.
I wonder if it is possible to have an intelligent conversation on political matters on this board. I siad nothing aobut hating him, and made a serious point. Why not address that rather than raise all these diversions?

Why are conservatives insane with hatred for Bill Clinton?
It's not like he goes around starting wars with understaffed & undersupplied troops for fun and profit. Oh wait, if they can profit, they like that & to hell with the poor troops.
You're actually going to blame Clinton for undersupplying the troops. That's funny. Wake me up when something fianlly becomes Bush's responsibility.
As for Rove's resignation, it is a nonstory, this late into an eight-year presidency. What's done is done.

Why in the world is that worth SHOUTING about? It's really not that exciting, and you seem to be forgetting your target audience. I would imagine that the majority of people on this message board have no idea who he is.

the guy WAS blaming Bush and making fun of Republicans. Follow along with the sacasm he was replying to more closely and you'll get it.
Hey Weary, re-read the post.

I am not a liberal and I dislike Karl Rove. Rove's tactics basically killed off McCain's campaign back in 1999/2000, particularly in South Carolina. I believe McCain would have been a far better president than the monkey we currently have in office, and I resent Rove for his role in making that happen.
