if that was the other way around the AD would have been sued

They were bad....with that budget what did they do on the national scene?.......nothing.
How do you know the budget? You got mental capabilities or do you just assume that all D1 schools spend the same.
What a stupid comment!!!
I know the budget and I know how they spent it.
it seemed like the women throwers were doing well at UCF. Is that accurate? If so, why would the new coach get rid of someone who seemed to be doing a good job. any thoughts.
Yeah UCF can no longer afford to pay for a 5 scholarship team. But next time you are on campus make sure you stop by our brand new football stadium and basketball arena that will open this year. You also need to make sure you get tickets to our first home game against Texas and watch us get murdered.
the throwers were great and a distance runner was cusa freshman of the meet outdoor track
for the money ucf had to spend 5th in C-USA is pretty good
especially when you look at USF's huge travel budget and they're at the bottom on their conference
The new UCF AD doesn't like cross country
He only cares about sprints everyting else is boring
That's why the change- the old coach nver would have let him get away with cutting a sport in the top half of the confernce. Football, volleyball and baseball were all kept and they are at the bottom of the conference heap.
The AD is making a statement replacing white coahces with black coaches like track and women's basketball... no luck with a black tennis coach
UCF's men's xc budget sucked the guys were not nat'l qualifers but did a good job only FSU and UF beat them bad all other teams UCF could beat or atleast hold their own.
For little money and small scholarships they did pretty good and the coach didn't sell out with foriegners to be respectable. In the last 2 seasons every man on the team PRed how many teams can say that
Hey Marcia.
U people are not that smart. does not have anything to do with gender or color. Bottom line is she is one of best coaches in country. lets see, u every heard of Dee Trotter, Madison (gold medal long jump) team won ncaa Indoor championship, scored like 3or 4 in 60, 3 or 4 in 200, need I go on. It will be worth the wait for her to have her baby period.
For all those years at Tenn. ha ha. How come Madison left her? She was going to get fired.
bagman:
How can anyone NOT be successful at a place like Tennessee? Give me a break. We take these unqualified people, and put them at places like Tennessee, Florida, Texas, etc, etc, etc and then we crow about them being successful. Who the heck couldn't be successful at these places. Time will tell if the new UCF coach is all she is cracked up to be. Recruiting to UCF will be just a little different than at UT.

Um, who is unqualified at Florida?
well said indeed!
The new women's sprint coach
Yo,
The new coach's sprint credentials are not the issue, she's paid her dues. It's obvious that she knows sprinting.
But what possible good can come from destroying an existing men's cross country program and how does the removal of men's cross country program support her statement of...
"I see tremendous promise in the UCF track and field and cross country programs, which was a major influence on my decision to accept the position," said Smith Gilbert.
All of this while starting her job on maternity leave.
It doesn't take much to see that something doesn't smell right in UCF's Sports Administration office.
Time for UCF Alumni and the local running community to start shoveling this S*^&! and let them know how we feel about the demise of the men's cross country program seemingly at the benefit of a sprint program!
