Anyone know what the word on the street is for Coach Schexnayder's replacement? Is Shaver as bad as I've heard some say? The ncaa ad says the position closes pretty soon. This makes me think they might already have someone in mind. Anyone know?

Who the hell would want to work in Baton Rouge...hurricanes, crime, 100 degree temps with 100% humidity, mosquitos
Yeah that sounds great!
crime?
that city aint new orleans
Where is Schexnayder going? He's an amazing coach!
He's doing private sector stuff at a fitness / performance center.
When was the last time a huricane hit baton rouge?

Hurricanes cause problems for nearby heavy hit cities even if they are not hit themselves. Baton Rouge is the prime example of this.
From what I've heard, Shaver is a tough guy to work for. Interested to see what he'll do with this hire. His last 3 hires have been questionable at best.
Nobody knows? That's hard to believe. This is arguably one the most prestigious jobs in track and field. Inquiring minds want to know.
Arguably?
Milan Donley. Look at what his jumpers did at Big 12s.

Is this a guess or is he actually being considered?
Still wondering...
i would pick James Vanhootegen, very simple and plan. Although getting him from A&M would be difficult or as a second choice Jacoby from Louisville. There. Just speculation.

I think Jimmy V makes more at TAMU than Boo did at LSU so I don't think I'd be willing to pay more to lure him away. I sure would like to see Henry's face though if he did.
Jacoby is the man right now with what he has going on at Louisville, and there probably isn't anyone who would be better suited for replacing Boo when you consider his athletic background combined with the Louisville success he has had. JVH will not leave Texas A&M he's probably the highest paid field events coach in the country. Other speculation would be Mike Young from Army, he worked with Boo at LSU as a GA. My complete speculation is that if Jacoby doesn't get the job Shaver will hire a former olympic / international caliber jumper with limited coaching experience.
So far we have:
Milan Donley
Randy Cole (mentioned in another thread)
Jake Jacoby
Mike Young
Jim Vanhootegen
Anything more than speculation on any of these? Have any of these guys actually applied?
Why not Mario Sategna from Texas. Good success and is an LSU alum?
Why Randy Cole?
