Will he be joining the Michigan Distance Extravaganza this weekend in Hillsdale?

Nowitzke kicked his ass in cc.
It ain't cross-country anymore.
Hopefully they both will be in top form for MAC meet, so that they push each other in exciting races there. Kudos to Jeff as well in getting the 10000M qualifier for NCAA's.
Jeff is beyond the world of Hillsdale racing. It really is a weak meet in all the races. They need to limit the fields; the 2nd heat of the 5k is at 11:15 this year!

You must be joking. Jeff would have to run a huge pb to win any event at Hillsdale. The good news is that Jeff is probably good enough to get in the first heat unlike Stanford.
Why are people on here trying to slam on Powers (or Nowitzke for that matter, or stir things out about them)? Both seem like stand up guys and are having great track seasons, and are representing their schools and the MAC very well.
I apologize if that is how my statement came across. I was defending the Meet and not putting down Mr. Powers. The Meet records are far superior to any time that Mr. Powers has run, and a poster tried to claim that Mr. Powers was too good for this meet.
Mr. Powers could run the meet record if he wanted to, but he shows his true strength by waiting patiently and letting others have "their day."
Mr. Powers also hasn't blinked in 6 years.

Hillsdale's winning times last 3 years:
2004:
5k: 13:57 (MR)
10k: 29:07
2005:
5k: 14:04
10k: 29:13
2006:
5k: 14:04
10k: 29:52
Powers's PBs:
5k: 13:55
10k: 28:42
Something tells me, he might not have to run out of his shoes to win.
Correction, meet record for 10k
Meet Record: 28:34.79 2002 Kyle Baker, Indiana Invaders
Still, it is not "far superior" to what he has run.
I will certainly check the 10k results this weekend. We shall see if he has ever as fast as it will take to win. Too be continued........
Wow, you must be guzzling the Haterade this morning.
Who does Powers run for?
Central Michigan University
He's gonna be a Hanson's guy soon.

I guarantee that no college runner will run faster than 28:42. Someone from Hansons may, but then again, they are 3-5 years older, and are professionals.

That is a great move. They have had a few CMU guys before.
