I was planning on going out in 1:05 and trying to hang on on Monday. Who would you guess I\'ll be running with at the 13.1 mile mark at this pace?
My PR is 2:14 so I know this is risky; however, I am hoping a few folks are around to pull me along.

If your are running next Monday I don't think many will be hanging with you.

Probably nobody since they're all tapering for three Mondays from now...

I bet if he runs this Monday he bets everyone to the finish.
I'd try and get in touch with the Moultons or local elites. I can't think of anyone else that is coming in to run the marathon that is in that caliber. I know all the Hansons Boys are gearing up for the trials.
Sorry, that was my error.
I am running the same Boston you are.
Same question applies re: the 1:05 half split.
Go with Lehmhuhle and Gilmore. They'll probably go out at that pace.
It's interesting and disappointing the BAA site doesn't list the elites anywhere on the marathon page. I would think at that point in the race there would be a lead pack and you'd be hanging with a chase pack. Who knows though, the legit contenders may not be much farther ahead than 1:05. Hope it works out for you!
Sell did this last year- 1:05:17/2:10:55.
Gilmore was with him but fell off to 2:12:45. There are not many guys in this "pack".

In my opinion, anybody planning to go out in 2:05 can be considered "legit", but maybe not in some circles i guess
Sell was 1:05?
Wow, maybe I am overgunning the first half.
I was hoping to run even splits.
2:14 pr and your looking for split advice this board ?
I suppose right now Warren Buffet is posting on CNBC for some investment ideas too.
I am a troll.
I was just testing the mettle of this board to see if I could get to a 50 message thread where all the experts would spout off about this and eventually evolve to a discussion about the North Carolina women's team.
Alas, the board is better than I thought and except for the "Monday" error, kept the topic to 5 or 6 posts.
I do have a 2:27 PR but that was awhile ago and I suspect my Boston will be 2:40 at best. As for the UNC team, they could be my daughters so I will withhold judgement.
