Hi I was injured with a groin injury and cross trained on the stairmaster (which did not hurt my groin at all). However, the stairmaster seems to screw up my knees and now I am dealing with a knee issue! I think that perhaps my quads are not strong enough and there is some imbalance issue going on. Anyways I just took a week totally off of the stairmaster, running, everything and I still have this left knee problem. It is not under my knee but rather on the knee cap, off to the medial side. Almost on the knee cap, but off to the right (this is on my left knee). My quads are extremely tight (especially this left one) and I have been stretching and icing them and my knee but nothing is working. I can run like 10-15 min with no pain and then it starts "pulling" at this area. I have rested, ice, I don't know what else to do, and I don't know what this is, but I DO know that it was caused by doing too much of that darn stairmaster. Can someone help me out here?
