Lived in Tunica for a few years back. Came down from Michigan. It was hot, humid, windy, flat and straight line roads with people doing 90mph in the middle of nowhere!
There was a nice trail at Arkabutla reservoir. Could get about 6 miles in with a big long perfect hill about half mile long. Got to know the park rangers. They were very nice. Everybody was nice.
I'd run on the golf course early in the morning. No problem because nobody out that early. Could get very windy!
Its been a while but Tunica had this amazing huge Gym/Health center. Also I think 50meter indoor pool. Top of line new tread mills. Sometimes it was to hot, humid or raining so would use he TM. If had every imaginable weight machine. Hardly anyone used it. Or maybe did at different time than when I was there.
FYI Memphis has hills towards the river....think about it. At the time there was a raced called Cooper...something 4 miler. It was a rollercoaster! Half mile up.....half mile down....half.mile up....half mile...ect. It was fun! Memphis running club folks at the race were snobs. They must have been pissed a Yankee master kicked their asses. Same at Gibson 5K/Elvis 5K.
I never stepped foot in the Casino while there. Too busy working and flying in/out. Wish I had time to enjoy the Blues historical background.
