Horrible case. RIP. It was clear from the onset that this was how this story was going to end.
Was a ransom made for her? Did the killer know her?
What a sad story. I was hoping Eliza would be found alive.
It looks like the perpetrator abducted someone else in the past and served 20 years for it. Crazy that he did it again.
Read this story:
When the guy kidnapped the attorney at 16, he had already been charged with rape prior to that as a juvenile.
Can someone tell me why he was given a bail number at all? He should 100% be locked up without a murder charge. This dude is as bad as they come.
Also can someone tell me if he was being monitored closely? Like was this guy on parole? Or just allowed to do whatever he wanted?
This man is a monster. He deserves the death penalty or at least the rest of his life in solitary.
Everyone seems very upset going by the down/upvote ratio on every post here.

This is so f****ked
Death Penalty!
He should have executed decades ago...
There is a new law recently signed in Tenn. which would have kept Abston in prison after his first conviction for kidnapping if it had been in effect back in 2000. The new law does not allow for early release in cases where the perpetrator has committed certain offenses, like especially aggravated kidnapping which he was convicted of back in 2000.
In other news, CNN has a few articles on the high-profile case but refuses to post a pic of Abston. Instead it only posts each time a pic of the victim with a big smile.
I did a search on MSNBC for Cleotha Abston and that, not surprisingly, came up empty. Just imagine if the murderer had been white and the pretty jogger had been black.
Memphis gonna Memphis.
Garbage city, terrible place to have to live.

So sad. Nobody should enter urban areas anymore, and this just confirms it. They're all high crime warzones.
Sources have identified the body as Liza's. So terribly sad. Horrible for her family and a deep, deep challenge for our city.
My daughter was in her running group and ran in that area regularly. Now, everything changes.

Her body has been recovered.
We should slice open his brain to see what his problem is. Not joking.
