Sahlman finishing 6th (just missing 5th) is pretty good. I know the hype is big but the top 2 are pretty good, and it’s competitive. I think your expectation for Las Heras (who went 7th/9th) and Quax might be a bit unrealistic.
Not at all impressed with Mike Smith in regards to getting his other athletes prepared. So far the DMR, Quax, Herrera, and Sahlman have pretty much bombed this Championship.
Not that the women are expected to score big, but hopefully Congdon can nab some points coming up in the 8 and mile. Very impressed with her to make each of these finals in light of the prelims of each being only half hour apart.

agree, Smith brought a small team of distance runners and finished 4th in the team standings. NAU is the only non-power conference team in the Top 20. Sahlman in his 1st indoor championship is All American and was a legitimate threat until the end. Las Heras was All American in the 5K and missed being All American in the 3K by half a second. and the fact Theo Quax was even here is a testament to Smith's coaching and patience after all the injuries Quax has dealt with in his career at NAU. and don't forget Bosley, if he was 100% he would have been right there with Young/Wolfe in both 3 and 5K's.
she didnt look great in that mile. either shes pacing herself or shes still not recovered from yesterdays effort. thoughts and prayers to her legs having to double 25 minutes apart.
No, she didn’t. Doesn’t the 800m have only 8 to start? She can jog it and at least get a point. Nothing to lose.
Congdon ran a 2:06 in that 800 - WAY slower than her average. yeah, she was done.

Congdon busted her butt to make those finals and then had zip. Still both doubles are tough, with even less gap in the finals.
Whittaker bails out Stanford with a beautiful race. Happiness tonight with her buddy Willis.
Arkansas amazing at 200-400.
Yes, this meet schedule is simply not doable for most of the best middle distance. Heats and finals + DMR in 2 nights, with events literally minutes apart. The only ones who escaped are the 3k-5k specialists as they aren’t all on DMR duty, have no heats and those events are a day apart.
I’d have to agree with most of the people from last night’s board - if we want to see the best DMR and individuals in the finals, this current schedule needs a rethink.

standing on the start line with tired legs and seeing a fully rested Michaela Rose and Juliet Whitacker next to you has gotta be the worst feeling in the world

Sprinters can’t manage it either as just evidenced by the same Arkansas women going 1-3 in the 400 and then 6-8 in the 200 finals.
It makes no sense for them to separate men and women into two sections like this. Run them together and give the athletes double the rest.

Arkansas women in the long sprints are incredible. 1-2-3 in the 400m at 7:20. All 3 come back to score points in the 200m at 7:50 and I assume we’ll see all three at 8:20 in the 4x4. If they win the relay, that’s 40 points in 60 minutes

Noticed that! Even the sprinters are suffering badly. 4 x4 is going to be interesting!
