God is only capitalized when referring to the one true God. "A distance god" gets no capitalization.

Imagine that…a 21 year old is in the form of his life. Wonders never cease.

Take the moments when they arise. 100% he should give a shot at the Olympics whilst the going is good.

Better option honestly would be to go pro, sign with Adidas and do the Road to Records 10K the last week of April. Not sure what he has to gain in outdoor NCAAs

I started running at age 15. I was in the form of my life at 15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24. It does happen more than you think.

And if he picks up an injury by pushing it instead of recovering, he has just screwed his shot at the Olympics. And we can talk about how dumb his coach was to overrace him. It’s a fine line

Rational thinking would side with not being greedy and adding to possibility of injury after two hard and incredibly good races.

If he were to run 26:59 which is a big if, given only two runners entered have done and are amongst the best in the world… doing the 10 in the summer after a long NCAA season is a big ask and risky.

The 5k standard is an easier time to make, less hard on the body and could be achieved before the summer Olympic trials.

The super duper times collegiate runners are running and the expectation of hitting even better times by fans are unrealistic. As well, such expectations cause so many in the NCAA to over train, over race, over achieve just to have it go in the opposite direction when it matter most if/when they turn pro.

A 14 hour flight to run a road 10k? That’s a better option? Would it even count?

He already has the 5k standard
