Still amazed that you get these diamond league meets on prime time tv in Norway. It’s on from 8pm on the first (public) channel in the country.
Ireland works fine
Knighton up next, still only 19, will he continue to get even better?
Mena got robbed on the lane draw
Solid opener. Crazy when you are a little disappointed by 19.89 on neutral wind in an opener.
No showboating or slowing down. Great to see!
Knighton easily 19.89.
I think it’s better than on first look. Only 68 degrees or so, and the margin reflects that. Probably worth a 19.7x in hotter conditions.
Puma kits are RAD AF, especially lady pole vaulters
And Richards ran 20.08 (+.7) in LA. So Knighton beating him by almost .4 is good.
Ugly, clashing yellow and periwinkle with random black smoke??? 🤢 Nike has the best kits imo
Fahnbulleh looks really out of shape.
Great crowd at the event, nice atmosphere. I have a weird belief that open stands or even just grass banks for spectators to sit on really add to the atmosphere of athletics meets. It's not a stadium sport outside of the Olympics and World Champs, we should stop trying to make it that way
Info from Twitter:
When Femke Bol ran her PB of 52.03 at the Olympics she was using 15 steps. This season she is switching to 14 which means alternating lead legs. She nailed it until the 7th hurdle before settling back into 15. To run 52.43 right now shows a ton of promise in the transition!
Coburn ran the first 400m in 70 flat and is WAY back. Admittely there isn't a water jump but they are out fast. Coburn is ahead of the 9:00 green light.
Fanbulleh 20.51, yikes not quite rounding into shape yet
Coburn's a mess!
8:45 pace thru 800?
Flat out missed the hurdle at the water jump
