Great to see her energy focused in the right direction.
We merged two threads together and just combined the title.

Back on the sauce. Maybe next time she won't get the protected "tested positive for Marijuana" as a paid off front for a PED positive.
I don't want to be a naysayer, but historically SR starts all of her seasons blazing hot and then fizzles out by the USAs or bigger meets later in the season. I'm not holding my breath. But I can at least agree, when she starts a season, she starts them hot. Great run!
She looks way different, wouldn't have recognized her.
Totally. The last race she did she had a loose jewelry chain that went all the way around her waist and a tail that went down her leg and attached to her ankle. It was completely ridiculous for a running race.
Today was all business professional. Love it. I hope she continues to improve.
Who didn't see this coming when she was running 10.3 in practice?
excuse me sir, is this your tinfoil hat? I think you dropped it
Hahahahaha, the look of devistation.
Her reputation for underperforming at big meets is a bit harsh in my opinion. Consider:
2019: she won the SEC championship on May 11, then won the NCAA championship on June 8. It’s understandable that she might have been worn out by the time of the US championship final on July 26.
2020: N/A. Covid
2021: She got DQ’d after the US championships for something that most people agree shouldn’t be illegal; let’s not forget she crossed the finish line first in the 100 final.
2022: Inexplicably underperformed at the US championships
Don’t know what happened last year, but someone who has won an NCAA championship and has crossed the finish line first at the US Olympic Trials is definitely someone who can deliver at big meets.
You should have written, "Her antics used to bother me but I am glad to see her show up, race well, act respectfully towards the event organizers and competition. It looks like she's matured or gotten some good coaching/management. Glad she's changing her ways."
Instead you focused on the Sha'carri of 2021 and 2022. It is 2023 and people who are young like her can change for the better.
p.s. If she reverts back to her old ways, I'll be right there with you. I never liked her until today because today she ran with respect for herself and the sport. Nice work!
I actually tuned in right when they got into the blocks and I couldn't find her because she looks so much better/healthier and more professional. I literally didn't recognize her.

whens her next failed drug test?
Dude, I don't smoke pot but that is not a "failed drug test" in any any normal PED context. We've had East Germans on bull shark testosterone and Russians with horse medication in their suitcases and you are harping on a weed violation? If you enforced that rule in real sports, 90% of the NBA and NFL would be banned.
p.s. Is beer a drug? Is caffeine a drug? Get real...

exactly. looks like a completely different person from the trials win.
I think this thread is 90% positive regarding Sha'carri. Can someone document how much support she's getting here? After all, certain posters like to say "everyone here is a racist" and that is not the case. It was never about race...
I have high hopes that she's turned the corner and that makes me very happy for her and her fans. I hope she keeps it up. She's an amazing runner!
Way to go
Great run but I don't think anyone ever doubted she has the talent to run 1076. Call me when she makes it through the rounds at USAs & Worlds. I hope she proves me wrong as we need a star in the 100. It's been a while.
Imagine any other runner in the history of running crossing the finish line, crouching, then shouting his or her first name. I am on the record doubting her but now I acknowledge this is her world and we're just living in it. SHA-CARRI!!!!!!!!
still early in season, but great run and start to season.
Female 100m, like the mens event, looks to be a great event in 2023.

Anyone notice her post-race coughing? Could have been the Doha dusty air or something else. Wink, wink.
She is good for the sport !! and what a talent .
