I love turning on the race late and seeing nothing but two cameras, and then the occasional check in on WC race. So Mantz is just behind the large pack of men's runners they are showing most frequently? Halp.
Yep Find my marathon has the middle of the race with a headwind for 45% of miles 11-15. Miles 16-20 50% of it is a tailwind though. 13-14mph headwind is no joke.
It’s not equal pay for the wheelchair race as they race much more frequently so now they are statistically offered greater opportunity for earnings
I feel like if you can finish a marathon in a wheelchair that already makes you elite. The competition is definitely thin. What is there? Like 20 total wheelchair athletes. Versus millions of runners.
So Herpesa Ngessa has already disappeared ? WTF is wrong with this guy ! This is likely the last he appears in the start list of a major city marathon.
If memory serves he's the one who'd painted his shoes in Dubai 2019 as he was an Adidas athlete and ran with the N% !
I noticed that, too. They just said she has two pacers designated to her.
Yes, Jonathan Mellor and Brian Harvey. Harvey also paced her in Indianapolis when she set the US 1/2 record.
Of course, had a brain fart there. I remember posting the other day that it was surprising Mellor was pacing given that he has his own Olympic ambitions. But he's an NB athlete so it probably won't hurt any future contract negotiations if he helps Sisson to a NR
chepngetich is on fire. before I heard what pace she was on, I saw her ahead of Matt MacDonald and was like "oh he's not doing well", but no she was just going that fast.
also, the announcers are so bad they have no clue about the sport. when would you hear "I wouldn't have even thought of that" during an nfl, nba, mlb, nhl game from a hired announcer? they're supposed to know about the sport so they can inform us, not be clueless and amazed like this is some exotic activity
