And one thing to add, lacctic equated Mellit's Patriot League performance to a 14:47. Not sure what the consensus opinion on how accurate lacctic rankings are, but it's something to consider.
Bijan is a very smart guy, and I'm sure he has spent a lot of time on his algorithms, but I'm not 100% sold on them. That being said, Mellitt may very well be a 14:47. If so, he will fit well into the CC lineup in the 3rd slot leaving it really up to the 4th and 5th runners of Colby to try to beat them. I honestly could go either way at this point the more that I study it. And I still feel like Amherst could, and I stress could, be a dark horse for the podium spot. But we will know far more in a few weeks. And it will be interesting to monitor Donahue's progress for Middlebury. He is a big part of their team, so when and how he comes back is important.
Maher had to depart from the program last second due to personal reasons. Sam Alexander is serving as the interim coach after being a volunteer assistant for a couple years. Super knowledgeable guy with strong PRs
They performed really well it seems at an early season meet, beating Williams. But I think the USTFCCCA rankings punish other teams for not performing in early season meets, which overall matter little. What matters are the meets in November. I think RPI being ranked above teams like Williams is a bit much
RPI seems to be very legit and also missing a few guys. Mideast continues to be the most competitive region in the country and will likely send 5 teams to nationals once again.
isn't pollock returning to conn for the fall for a 5th year? he probably had eligibility leftover. If he returns then the camels are serious contenders
Pollock isn’t returning, he’s not on the roster. Without him conn returns 6 of their top 7 but they had such a gap from their 4th guy to their 5th guy that losing him is a big loss. Hopefully their bucknell transfer makes up for that

RPI is legit and they always should have been a top 10 team, but who was missing from their lineup at Siena? It looks like everyone from their scoring lineup was there.
Wesleyan was a nice surprise, bit of a gap between their 3 and 4 but they could make a jump if it closes. Could see them moving up to 7-8th in the conference after a 10th place finish last year. Amherst's freshman class is deep, seems like they'll have the bodies to fill the gaps left at 2-3 from graduation. They should be in the conversation for a top 4 finish. Hard to say since Bates, Colby, and Conn haven't raced their full teams yet but Amherst is gonna make it interesting.

By the looks of it, just #2 returner Simonetti. One or two of last year's top 7 raced but were well back

Its weird, he's listed on their roster but didn't race outdoor last year either. He did have a few indoor times posted including a 14:42 at Boston in February, but has been quiet since then. Maybe someone on the team can provide insight. Based on some of the jumps their other runners made (Smyth and Kennedy) I'm not sure he would even be in their top 5 right now if he's returning from injury.
