Does anyone know what happened? UMASS-Lowell was the host school for the race at Franklin Park, but I can't find the results anywhere.

Nevermind, I found them. Stonehill crushed UMASS-Lowell, 30-64. Stonehill got five in before Lowell's #2. Very suprising that it was that lopsided.
The women's race was very close. ULowell beat out Stonehill by 1 point.
It was the same way at their NE-10 meet.
EXTREMLEY impressive performance put in by the Stonehill men today. Having come from the basement of the Region to the top has been quite a quick assention. If Stonehill is able to keep up their shape they have a good shot at the top 6-10 at the national championships this year. They are a force right now and it will be hard to match a 25 second 1-6 spread anywhere else in the country. Keeping in mind that the #6 was only 30 seconds behind a 14:15 5K runner in the Lowell #1.
Typical Stonehill and they're peaking for Conference...
Will they ever learn?!?!?
They did run well, but I don't know if they will be able to replicate it in a few weeks. Some of their guys had big races. A guy on the team told me thier 6th man went through 8k (albeit the Franklin Park 8k mark)in 25:58 when his previous 8k PR was around 27:30. Maybe it was a great race, maybe it was a breakthrough. Time will tell.
I have the feeling Lowell's number 1 didn't have his best day. I wouldn't now conclude that Stonehill's #6 is a 14:45 guy with Stonehill's number 1 a 14:18 guy. That would make Agnew a sub 14:00 guy from the same race. If that is in fact the case though they should be in the top 4 forget top 10.
It was a great regional race. Stonehill ran awesome. Give credit to Agnew for winning, not that Lowell # 1 had a bad day. Mile split was 4:40 and he threw in a couple of big surges to break away at 4.5 miles. Bentley team ran well to finish 3rd after 6th at conference. The region is now recognized as being much stronger than the past.

That wasn't what I meant in my post. I was just pointing out the fact that they finished so close to a very good runner. I would not assume that any of those guys can run remotely that fast.
Stonehill's #6 guy did have a huge race but it was a long time coming. Don't expect them to let down for nationals. They are on a roll right now.
Well, conference was two weeks ago, so did they steamroll UML and Bentley even though they're past their peak?
Assuming you really meant regionals, in recent memory they've either finished just behind UML and did the same at nationals, or completely blown up and not even qualified for nationals. Before that they just sucked. So I don't think Stonehill peaking early is really typical as you claim.
As far as some of the "breakthroughs" go, I haven't been at any of their races this year, but I think all the teams in NE have been dealing with some less than ideal conditions during races in which they should have been running PR's. Not that times really matter in cross country.
I believe the post you are replying to was a very sarcastic one by the poster...it is rumored that word around the Lowell camp was that Stonehill was peaking purposely for conference just so they could beat Lowell on the local level. Clearly this is not the case after the regional blowout Stonehill handed Lowell yesterday.
Quick congrats to Ryan Agnew who really pulled off a great race going out under 4:40 and holding off a great runner in Morasse of Lowell.
Ah, I was unaware of that rumor and completely read that wrong. I apologize for the idiotic post.
I know Stonehill looked good, and are ranked 11th. But will either Lowell or Stonehill finish top 8?
Obviously the Lowell team hasn\'t peaked....I mean morasse ran 30:50 last year in the same race and ran away with it... Almost a minute faster than this years time... There was obviously must have been something keeping morasse and the rest of lowell from running fast... I think the lowell team may be hiding something... we will see at nationals....
Rumor has it Chris Kapfer is suiting up for nationals. Just cleared by NCAA, and from a reliable source. This could get interesting!
Morasse actually ran 31:08 last year and then proceeded to run HORRIBLE at nationals. Times mean NOTHING in cross country, even over the same course. Last year was beautiful weather and a packed down course, this year was cool and wet and over a sloppy beaten up course.
It's interesting that you think they are hiding something, I'd like to see what could they possibly do in 2 weeks that will make up for the 34 point beating they took this weekend. I could be very wrong about this but I'd say they would need to pull out a few red-shirt grad students to make up for the team right now. Stonehill made them look like a bunch of chumps.
