Funny how this comment doesn’t get deleted even though there is no evidence. Yet if this was an OAC athlete it wouldn’t have lasted more than a few minutes. So let’s see what happens with this comment. I say it’s Andrews and Monson that are beyond obvious!!

We’ll take it from where it’s coming from. The comment is obviously coming from someone who expected Monson to win. It means nothing since neither Cranny nor anyone else in that field tested positive. Bunch of sore losers
Goucher predictably providing zero sense of context or pacing in a race where times matter, with the world standard in play.
The lead pack passes 4200 at 11:33 and the announcers are saying they are going after the world standard. Yeah. All they have to do is run the last 800 in 1:33.
But the relay pools are only for people running either the 100 or 400 at USA's.
There's nothing in the rules that says this. The rules say 4 of the 6 members of the 4x1 and 4x4 pools must be the four athletes (including alternates) entered in the 100m and 400m.
The other two members of those pools, and the two additional members of each gender in the mixed relay pools, may be selected at the discretion of USATF, with the only stated requirement being that the athletes must have competed at USATF champs, in any event.
We already know Gabby is getting 1 of 2 of the discretionary picks, so who do you think should be bumped for an Abby that has not being stellar this season? Last season when Abby was in top form she was an alternate in the relay, this season she’s worse. Abby hasn’t earned a spot in the 4x1.
4x4, there’s depth here for the 400m, Abby has never ran a flat 400m outdoors, a 4x4 relay this season, again, last season when she was in top form she was a last replacement for Dalilah.
The only relay they can stick her in is the mixed 4x4 even that is unearned but at least it wouldn’t make the favoritism so obvious. Since I have been watching T&F, I have never seen an athlete that didn’t compete in the 400 or 100, came 4th in 200, never ran an outdoor 400m heavily pushed to be in the relay pool before.
Might Monson drop the 5000m to let Andrew's on? Appearently it was tentative if she would even run the 5000m at this meet
Why should she?? Andrews doesn't deserve it and wouldn't be a big factor there anyway. Why does Monson owe Andrews anything? Like pacing her, giving her spot away, anything else? Should Monson have held the prima donna's hand and dragged her with her to the finish line too?

Not only that, she's injured. Hopefully by the time Budapest happens she will already have had surgery and is rehabbing so she can start training again sometime in the fall.

Oh ok. That explains a lot then. She should end her season and get the surgery so she has enough time to prepare for Paris.
I don't think she's bad but she was actually better when she first started. I think they've stymied her in a lot of ways, like telling her not to talk when runners are in the last 200. Cause that's for the play-by-play guy. But then there are awkward spaces of silence when everything is ramping up. They don't really give her enough time to say anything, introduce anyone. She needs to be more adaptable and cut off what warm-hearted thing she's saying about someone if someone unexpected enters the picture.

My interest is in stating what the rules are. Whether Steiner is selected for the pool, I have no interest. And given that she mentioned the bone spur in her post-race, she may have no interest.
