Hawk Tuohy really hit a wall. She was doing alright then suddenly her cheeks started puffing out and her head started bobbing and I thought I detected a little gimp in her stride. She dropped 20 seconds off the finish over the last 800.
Outdoors later in the season as a more distance focused runner.
That’s a meaningless argument. Fisher just ran 7:22, does that mean Jakob is in big trouble for the 5000m? Of course not. We are also seeing the first time in a while that Jakob has had a perfect buildup. Let’s see what he runs next week before making some dumb comments…
I agree Jakob has nothing to worry about, but let’s appreciate what Grant and Cole just did. Grant is going to obliterate the 5k WR next weekend, and with how Cole conducted himself today, he looks like a lock for the 5k team. Am I crazy to think that the Tokyo podium could be Jakob and two Americans?

I would not be surprised we hear she got hurt during the race, not good
not surprised by Whittni Morgan at all, don't forget she was hurt for a big chunk of last year, but rehabbed and made the Olympic team. she's dangerous when healthy.
He also ran that in heat (90 degrees) and wind. Fisher and Hocker got perfect conditions today. Jakob would have ran 7:14-7:15 today. We know this because Fisher ran 7:40 in Silesia.
No we don’t know this. Dumb take basing it off of a single data point 1.5 years ago.
You Jakob fans are dunce.
So you are denying the wind and heat Jakob experienced in Silesia? Despite the race analysis showing this?

Hawk Tuohy is insane lmao
but yeah she hawked a little tuah close to the sun and bonked hard. Hope she's ok, a bit of a rough performance but hopefully they get things back on track and today was just an off day.

You're getting downvoted because you dishonestly mentioned Fisher running a 7:49 in Silesia as if to say the conditions slowed him down by that much when clearly he was just cooked and having a terrible race.
Anyway yes, obviously Jakob would have beaten both of our guys today but they still ran incredibly well.

Did Kara really just say “it’s incredible she [Tuohy] still loves running after all this time”??
She’s 22!!?
That response was in reference to the statement that she has been racing at the Armory since she was 12. Given the statistics of girls that were running at a high level at age 12 and are still running at a high level at age 22, I'd say her comment is spot on. Incredible seems pretty accurate.
