Yared Nuguse ran 3:47.38 two years ago and 3:47.83 last year at Milllrose but this years he’s joined by Josh Kerr.
World record is 3:47.01.

Kerr wins in 3:50. Nuguse is too scared to set a fast pace. Kerr as well.

The OAC guys will likely ask for a fast pace, they aren’t afraid to go after it early. Whether or not that’s wise with a season that ends in September remains to be seen, but Nuguse has to be relatively sharp for GST, at least sharper than last year when he was in 5k shape. Armory has pretty tight turns and if Nuguse gets on the pace early it’s going to be hard to pass him unless he really ties up.
Nuguse will take it in 3:47.16, narrowly missing WR. Kerr can’t quite get around him on the last 50m.
