Yared Nuguse and Grant Fisher both broke world records in the mile and 3000m respectively as the runner-ups Hobbs Kessler and Cole Hocker also dipped under the old records.

Grant Fisher and Yared Nuguse are world record holders as Cole Hocker and Hobbs Kessler also ran faster than anyone else ever at their events indoors at a spectacular Millrose Games where Josh Hoey set an American record. We try and make sense of it all.

The men's mile and 3k both feature marquee showdowns between Olympic medalists and the world record(s) could be under threat. Plus Bryce Hoppel v Josh Hoey in the 800, Quincy Wilson v Will Sumner v Brandon Miller in the 600, and Katelyn Tuohy in the 3000.

The Olympic 1500m champ is going to get a little uncomfortable this indoor campaign - as in addition to the Millrose 3k, he's going to run a BU 5k.

Hoppel's win at Millrose last year kicked off a career year in 2024 that included a World Indoor title. The field also includes NCAA 800 champ Shane Cohen & 16-year-old high school sophomore Cooper Lutkenhaus (1:47 pb).
