Berian is legit, it's concentrated training combined with talent. Tuka didn't train year round until 2013, that has a lot to do with improvement - and being in Europe he's likely tested a lot more than the "natural" E. Africans who can avoid spot tests and testing at all for up to 8 - 9 months at a time. But being third world athletes they would never cheat of course.

Yes, I will admit that the rumor I have heard about Rudisha being caught and told to lay off the EPO or he would be exposed is probably the same one you have heard. If it's the truth, it's similar to what happened with Ngeny and Lagat and others. If you're Kenyan, Ethiopian, Cuban among other nationalities, you'll get a pass being a poor third world athlete and all. That's the rumor and there's likely a lot of truth to it, considering who's in charge and their general political and sociological bents.

Being in Europe does not mean anything in what is concerning testing.

There is no common antidoping agency in Europe.

Each country has it own standard.

Usually, guys who run the 800m way back the first lap and close faster by far than anyone else are 800m/1500m guys, like Wottle, Symmonds, Wheating, Andrews.

-uhhhhhh, go visit Bosnia. The landscape is drop dead gorgeous, but the economy teeters on 3rd world post war. Drug testing would be the last thing on their list of priorities.

According to ventolin, none of these guys has a clue about how to run 800.

The new Borza. Wow. Running even paced laps and coming from way back. Can work really well if you do not get pushed too wide in the last 200m and you are in really good form. Risky tactics but he got it spot on in Monaco. Probably would not work if the athletes were running sub 1.42 but who is doing that these days.

He would have hit 1:41 today assuming a clear lane 1 path.

Most certainly on juice.

This is wrong on several accounts. First, there's nothing to this rumor about Rudisha, specifically. I would know. Secondly, this idea that there is a leg up for people from third world is ludicrous. The sport is dying for people from Europe to succeed, not get pushed further back by an unending chain of Africans. Thirdly, you do realise that Ngeny was in a car wreck? He could never quite get his back straight after the wreck. And what happened with Lagat has been well documented.

Yes, your defense of Lagat and denial of third world athletes from certain countries and regions getting a wink and a nod is typical of one from the left!

Agree with LSF. Why on earth would anyone (yet this is commonly proposed) think that the third world countries get a break? They have NO money to bribe the IAAF officials. If anything it is the first world countries (primarily the USA) who have this cash (see Salt Lake Olympics) and some would sell their souls (corruptible and immoral) to gain a benefit. Not saying that this actually happens, but makes more sense than third world favoritism.

That testing in third world countries is weak also makes sense as they don't have the money to pay for it. First world countries do have the money - heck billions are wasted daily by most governments in various ways - so it's no skin off their back, but will they pay for testing for other countries (to level the field)? Who financially supports WADA, and so to whom are they beholden? can't believe it is Kenya and Ethiopia.

If Tuka were from Africa of course cheating wouldn't come up. Same goes for Berian. Maybe Tuka's cheating, but since he lives and trains in Italy, he's subjected to year round testing, unlike the sacrosanct Africans. One reason the whole AlSal witch-hunt started is because Epstein and crew didn't like the success non-Africans were having with Al and the OP in general.

Other runners have shown improvement like Berian and Tuka, and this will always happen in track. People will blindly accuse someone like Boris of doping yet idiotically assume that Dibaba is clean. She might be. Or she might be reaping the benefits from training and doping in a situation that allows her to avoid all spot tests most of the year, something most of her competitors outside E. Africa can't do.

Now I'm hoping that the improvement continues for Berian and Tuka and that they go 1 - 2 at next year's Olympic final. Tuka probably needs a year of work to have the necessary strength to get through fast rounds. That's something his coaches decided last year after he placed 6th at the Euros. So far it's paying off individual races.

The LR story on Tuka is filled with errors. One big one is the fact that he didn't skip 1:44 this year, he ran 1:44.2 earlier this season.

Tuka apparently only started participating in track when he was around 18 years old (2009). A little less than two years ago he started being coached by Gianni Ghidini, Wilfred Bungei's old coach. And it seems that his training has intensified since then (for example, before this time he had never been to a gym before)

After large improvements from unknown runners, suspicion is legit, sorry.

As for the round year testing, you only get tested round year when you reach a certain level.

A 1'46 runner isn't likely to be submitted to round year testing.

You're cherry picking, we all know why. You related to Epstein maybe? Top level Africans do avoid year round tests for the most part. The guy is correct when he mentions that.

The accusations against Berian and Tuka are interesting in comparison to say what happened with Amos, dropping from 1:47 to 1:41 in a year. Nothing is said. Some people will claim it's because Amos was a teen but anyone who believes he's as young as claimed hasn't taken a look at him. If you believe he's 21 now, then you'll believe everyone is clean and never lies about their age.

Berian is likely clean. So is Tuka, he is indeed living and training in Italy. I also hope both guys keep improving just to bother the usual packs of jealous LR posters.
