    I thought about that as I was posting that they haven't already made the kids wear helmets.

    Funny thing is that helmets increase chances of concussions according to studies on boxing.

    Yeah, from what I understand why it is in boxing and why rugby is safer than american football is that the athlete can't take as much punishment when they aren't wearing helmets. So those head on collisions take care of themselves if you just remove the helmets. No need to make football soft. Helmets do not protect the brain for the most part it mostly protects the skull, not the brain.
