I don't think anyone's heard anything from him since London. Not sure he even accepted the WC marathon spot

lol no wonder our sport is so unpopular. The World Championships is in 2 weeks and we have no idea if the greatest distance runner in history is running them or not.
Yeah, I'd actually be kind of surprised if he did go to Worlds, as it would be his 3rd marathon of the year (if you include Dubai). Isn't he running Berlin? If so, then that would be 4 marathons in a year.
Most recent update I've heard (fairly minimal!)

Good point I just assumed he accepted it. Kipsang and kipchoge are doing berlin and didn't hear anything of bekele doing it. I'm just assuming he's doing the WC's?...

good point. I figure Bekele either wants WR or another WC gold. I would doubt he would go in another Fall Marathon if not Berlin....is the start list final with Berlin or is there still time for him to go in it?

not sure if it is final... don't see why the race organizors wouldn't be eager to let bekele race berlin if he isn't on the roster yet - to have 3 of the 4 fastest marathoners in history would definitely up the hype for Berlin.
guess we'll figure out in two weeks whether bekele is running WC's or not?
I highly doubt he would do WC's if Berlin gives him a fat appearance fee and you know they will.
I think everyone would rather see him in Berlin just for the match up. If I'm not mistaken earlier this year Renato said he wasn't running WC's in a past thread.
I heard he's targeting Chicago to face the great white hope Rupp
Just saw a thread pop up saying bekele isn't on the marathon team...
Looks like his training for Berlin is going just fine.
Worlds in marathon running doesn't mean much. Why would Berkeley run? Especially after he was snubbed in 2016. He owes them nothing.
He'll race in the fall.
