If enjoying arts and caring about education makes one snobby, I sure hope I'm a snob.
The fact that "fast food restaurants per capita" is used as a positive indicator of snobbery is simply mind boggling.
Seriously, those are 10 towns and cities where I wouldn't mind living.
Educated populations, lots of cultural activities, and good dining options? Sign me up!
This list sucks. I prove its worthlessness with two words: Ann Arbor

No, it is the "fewer the better." I get that.
Honestly, most of those cities are really just big cities. I mean, Bethesda? Palo Alto? Come on.
They done should a call it th' most 'litist, libtarted small cities in th' country!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!
Half the list is California cities. That's actually quite funny.

Okay, they edited it at some point. When the link was posted, it said "the more the better."

Add Southlake, Texas to that list
I agree. Not sure PDX is a small town, however.
This list is complete BS, because Boulder, CO is not listed!

Boulder is not snobby. Its on the Top 10 list for smugness though.

What's the difference?
Oh, I see what you did there ...
If you read the way they picked the top cities, you would have to be an idiot to not want to live in a place that meets their selection criteria! And most of these places are not \"big cities\" as one poster wrote. They are basically the suburbs, but with lots of things to do in the area.
Snobbishness is an attitude. They haven't measured that. They can't measure that. This is one of the most pointless lists I have yet seen.
What is the minimum population criteria? Anyone ever spent time in Aspen?
Hoboken must be there for reverse snobbery.
"We thought about living in Manhattan {i.e. we can't afford to} but Hoboken has much more of a community feel {i.e. it's cheaper}"
Hoboken doesn't deserve to be on the list and shouldn't count. Most of the yuppies who live there shop and work in the city and only dine and drink in Hoboken. And the small percent of yuppies who have children don't even send their kids to Hoboken public schools.
