– Excerpt obtained by the BBC from a leaked email from Nike employee Craig Masback showing that Nike Ambassador (and now IAAF head) Seb Coe did indeed talk to Lamine Diack about the 2021 bid, which was awarded to Eugene (Nike’s birthplace) without a formal bid process. Seb Coe has vehemently denied he lobbied Nike. Whether he did or not is up for debate. What is not up for debate is that it’s absurd that Coe is continuing to be paid by Nike while running the IAAF. The IAAF, not Nike, should pay Coe a salary.

After their narrow defeat for the 2019 Championships I encouraged them to re-enter another bidding cycle as they had a strong bid.” That may be true but we 100% think Coe can’t be paid for Nike while the head of the IAAF.
