This time it wasn't a Bowerman 1-2 but a 1-2 for Scott Simmons' American Distance Project as Bor won his second straight US title.

The fastest two Americans in history Evan Jager and Stanley Kebenei have both scratched and Andy Bayer (#7 all time) is retired. That leaves Diamond League Hillary Bor as the favorite, but there is certainly space for the likes of Isaac Updike and Mason Ferlic who have both beaten Bor this year or newcomer Sean McGorty to make their first US team. And Benard Keter just beat McGorty.

Suguru Osako destroyed Galen Rupp over the final 400 of the 10,000 and then became a legend by running the B heat of the 10,000 immediately afterward.  In the steeples, Courtney Frerichs looked great in her second steeple of the year while Sean McGorty did not take a step forward.

Athing Mu is certainly one of the athletes better-positioned to make the Olympic team in 2021 than she would have been in 2020. The opposite is true for Jenny Simpson. We run through some of the other athletes whose stock has risen -- or declined.

We highly praise Conseslus Kipruto who unseated the GOAT, Ezekiel Kemboi, at the Olympics, and had one of the greatest years in steeplechase history. At just 22 years old, Kipruto could stay at the top for some time. We also give out accolades for the amazing career that Paul Kipsiele Koech enjoyed.

The  men's 1,500 is totally stacked (Penn State's Brannon Kidder and Oregon's Blake Haney are among the other contenders) while a resurgent Donavan Brazier could threaten in the 800. Mason Ferlic of Michigan is the favorite in the steeple.

In the women's mile, Nicole Sifuentes ran 4:30.50, beating out Leah O'Connor (4:32.76).

The Michigan and MSU women may not be 1-2 in the polls anymore but they're still two of the best teams in the country. The #1 Spartans are going for their fourth conference title in five years while the Wolverines are looking to get back on track after a third-place finish at Pre-Nats. In the men's race, Wisconsin will look to reclaim the title after Indiana snapped its streak of 14 consecutive wins last year.

This race was very exciting over the last lap. An all-out war between two men that almost resulted in both of them going down on the final barrier because they were so spent. In the end, Rotich was your winner. Might runner-up Stanley Kebenei soon be on a US Olympic team?
