I used to be a runner, but I quit running 2 years ago and started lifting weights. One of the best decisions of my life. Trust me, the grass is greener on the other side.
Running makes you emaciated and lowers testosterone. After lifting weights you will notice that women will be more attracted to you. You will be able to get the chicks you want. Plus you will be stronger, healthier and more happy.
When I was in college and shortly there after, I ran quite seriously getting close to 100 mile weeks at times with occasional weightlifting. But then I developed a nagging Achilles injury that wouldn't let me run more than 2-3 miles at a time and turned to lifting much more seriously since I could put the mental effort into planning workouts the same way I planned running workouts.
I went from 6'3" and about 175lbs to 220lbs over 2-3 years with a majority of it being muscle. I now definitely get more interest from girls than I did before. But I also get asked by guys about working out all the time or what my macros are (have never kept track). When I first meet guys, especially older guys my dad's age at work, many will ask what sport I played or "Where'd you play ball?" They never quite believe that I have never played a down of football in my life ran previously ran XC/track.
The thing no one tells you though before you start seriously lifting is you will never have a day where you feel big, even if people tell you so. I know I'm not a small person, but I never feel big. It's not quite the same as feeling small, but you look at yourself and always feel like you could be a little bit bigger. Taking up lifting in any serious fashion will probably mean you develop at least a small dose of body dysmorphia.
