I think we will learn a lot about Grace on Saturday. I expect none of it will be good.

But Kate Grace did not run 4:00-01 for three seasons at ca. 24 as Rowbury did. From this we could assume that Rowbury was more talented for the 1500m in the first place, years before NOP.
So the comparison doesn't really answer the question if there is more untapped 1500m potential or if she has reached plateau or peak in these events at 31.
You are missing the point. The move to NOP would not be to make Grace a better 1500 runner, it would be to squeeze another 2 seconds off her 800 time. The comparison to Rowbury merely shows that at age 29, or 30 if you want to be technical, there is still more untapped potential and how much she progressed at NOP.
Kate, if you are reading this, dump BTC now and go to NOP.
I missed or misunderstood the point. But I think it is maybe even more unlikely to improve in the 800m upon a 1:58 mark for a 30+ runner than it is to improve to 3:59 from 4:03 on the condition of being a sub 2 800m runner. Unless one goes Kratochvilova...

Rojo, please. She's a 31 year old 1:58/4:03 runner.
Mo Farah improved a ton at NOP late in his carrier. Just saying...
Farah was three years younger than Grace when he went to NOP.

This list shows that how different Rowbury and Grace are.
Rowbury was close to running under 4:00 way before she moved to NOP. Her pre-NOP PR, 4:00.33, was run when she was 23. This made her the 10th fastest American ever, right behind Uceny & Wysocki.
.
Also, Rowbury came from John Cook's system, which was a high quality, lower mileage system. So she would benefit more from NOP's higher mileage approach. Bowerman already is a high mileage system, so Grace would probably benefit less moving to NOP. At her age, she's unlikely to improve with either approach, though.

Much better showing today in Paris with another sub 2 effort. She's been doing 1500 specific training all year so if she changes gears and goes back to training for the 800 I think she will be fine. The strength that she gained will be helpful, now she just has to get those feet moving with some speed work.
Still say Jerry is all wrong for her and she needs to jump ship to NOP... NOW!
Agree. Get out of BTC. Get back to the 800. ASAP. Even OTC would be better.

Much better than what? Kate came 5th place and passed a dying Rogers en route.
For an Olympic 800m finalist, Kate is absolutely underperforming in the 800 and 1500.
Blame it on the coach, her age, whatever. Facts are facts. Kate has lost her ability to close. She use to be in the hunt at the end of races. Now she gets stuck in the pack or passed late.
The Revenge Tour continues!

Better than she ran last week.
No one denies that she is underperforming and it is obviously her training. The 1500 training that Jerry has her doing has caused her to lose her closing speed. Shelby would not be able to run a fast 800 either based on her 1500 training as proven at the Sunset Tour where Kate outkicked and beat her. To run sub 2 with her training is encouraging, if she switches gears to focus on the 800 now she can make the 800 team for Tokyo.
I don’t get it. Why would Kate be training with Shelby, a 1500/5k runner? When Kate was coached by that Bob Lesko guy she didn’t have this issue with her kick. She has also been running the mile and 1500m since 2013 or ‘14.
Extremely thin now. Hope she's ok

Some elite runners near age 30 attempt to improve VO2max by lowering the weight by kilograms. Kilograms is part of VO2max equation.
