He ran a PB of 3:38.35 at Bryan Clay.
I know that Blake Haney is a Canadian, Linkletter is a Canadian and that Grant Fisher is a Canadian, but is William Paulson also a Canadian?

Wow 3:58.07 is the school record for a PAC12 school ?!?
He's British, more specifically English, I believe

Yes, I understand that he was born in the UK. But are we sure that he’s not a Canadian?

Why does Athletics Canada rank in him first in the country?
His name is Robert Paulson.

his profile on Power of 10 (the British Rankings website) says he ran 3:58.07 at the MPSF in Seattle on 23 Feb which agrees with the Canadian rankings website which confirms that it is the same guy.
he was definitely born British. he ran for Stroud AC and ran for GB in the World Junior XC Champs in 2013. he is listed on Power of 10 as being fourth in the British rankings for the year. he is not listed by the IAAF as having transferred his allegiance so I can only assume he is still British.
it is possible that he has at least one Canadian parent or grand parent and maybe he thinks he has a better chance of running for Canada in the World's than for Britain, but that is just speculation.
I also notice that on the Canadian website his club is given as Laval University, Quebec, but at the Brian Clay meet he was listed as Stanford, and that may or may not be relevant. it certainly seems a bit odd.

cheers.

That's from the Canadian National Cross Country champs last fall.
Photo of him here; definitely the same guy:

C.A. means the club associated with Laval University, not the university team. Looks like he has family in or from Montreal and he occasionally runs for the club team. He's competed internationally as a junior for England. I think he has to declare which country he'll represent at the senior level.
Yes, it seems that Paulson (like Fisher, Linkletter, Haney...) is also a Canadian.
Fisher's American.
from the Athlétisme Québec site
Bold part basically says he has dual citenzship for Canada + GB and he's been a member of the Laval University Club (one of the top distance clubs in Canada, same one as Charles Philibert Thibotout, 3:34 Olympian) since fall 2018, They also say that he's in his last year of eligibility at ASU and he is an athlete to look out for at Canadian Nationals this summer (which are also the trials for Doha 2019)
Er... said: C.A. means the club associated with Laval University, not the university team.
that's a useful thing to know, thanks for clarifying that.
I've been spending some time recently on French national championships and there are guys there running for similar clubs,
CA Bayel, CA Bègles, CA Coquelicot, CA Flers, CA Fontenay and lots of others and it's nice to at last know what it means.
thank you.
Hi all,
Thought I'd weigh in on this one, seeing as it's about me. As some people have already pointed out, I do indeed hold dual British and Canadian citizenship as my Dad is From England and my Mum is from Quebec. Although I was born in the UK, I got my first Canadian passport in 1995 and all of my Mum's side of the family and one of my sisters live in Quebec city or Montreal. I know I may not sound too Canadian if you hear me speaking English, but rest assured, my accent in French more than makes up for it!
Regarding the CAUL, I first got in touch with their coach back in 2011 when I was still in high school but I only became a member last Autumn and ran as a part of their team at the Canadian XC Champs in November. My eligibility in the NCAA ends this Summer and I look forward to being able to compete for them in future competitions. I am also still a member of Stroud AC back in the UK as well.
Hope that clears some things up!
Cheers,
Will
Hey Will:
Thanks so much for posting. Proud to have you running for Canada! Congrats on yesterday's bronze--really impressed with how hard you went for it on the back stretch!

Also your base speed, since Coach Kraft ran you on 1600 relay @ Pac 12.
