Hey all,
New poster here, so let me get it out of the way up front: Skinnyfat male POS here until about 22. Ran on and off with no plans for years. Eventually did a few marathons pushing wheelchair athletes, got into the ultra gig, did a couple Ironmans...
But...
I'm slow. I've never run a flat open marathon, but this past year I've had a lot of LSD runs in the 18-22 range at 9:00, and I've got a few halves sub 1:55. Basically I'm a classic case of 'run one speed all the time, complain my results don't change.'
I honestly don't know much about the technical side of running. I've been on a Higdon plan once, and I completed, so yay. Now I'm 30 and want to chase that sub3. I have a history of 40-50 mpw in the last year and I can make 35+ happen consistently, pushing back up within a few months.
I'm in no rush. I don't need to BQ this summer. But broadly, what plans should I be doing? What am I missing?
