I asked for specific recommendations because there are many options
It seems the Tinman philosophy shares a lot with the training of Craig mottram:
1. Focus on aerobic/ threshold strength
2. Rarely on the track
3. Frequently working on speed and mechanics--at least twice per week strides for both
4. Not overdoing training, but allowing moderate workouts to build and build.

are there any posts on LRC where Tinman himself details his philosophy?
Good catch on the Mottram connection--seems very similar if I am reading that article correctly.
Though I've never heard a runner talk about his "natural" EPO

That is an old thread where someone compiled a bunch of Tinman posts.
I would say his philosophy has changed a bit over the past 15 years.

Back in the days when you actually could read useful stuff on LRC. Then the Brojos let the immature, juvenile idiots take over.
Question about the recovery with Cv intervals.... what’s the prescribed recovery for them? I’ve read 200m, I’ve read 60 seconds. Does it depend on distance of the effort (3:00 vs 5:00, etc)? Any clarification would be great.

For 1k reps Tinman recommends 60-90s, so 1k's w/ 200m jog or, in the form of a fartlek, 3 minutes on with 1 minute recovery.
For 5 minute reps or miles he recommends 400m recovery jog.

4:1 time ratio is what I recall.

13:49 ? Not so impressive.

A national title is a national title. Lagat won the US champs in 14:54 once - it doesn't invalidate the win.
I hope that last several posts are not insulting any connection between tinman and buster mottram. Another sub/sub-Elite performance with that National title.
Tinman has coached exactly one relevant “elite” and that’s Drew Hunter.

Nevermind it was just a New South Wales title - the poster was incorrect to call it a national title. Lame.

Loudoun Valley wins NXN with a record low score, using training inspired by Tinman. Brogan Austin wins CIM in 2:12 after working with Tinman for 5 months. Tinman Elite wins club nationals without Drew Hunter. Say what you will about the self-promotion from either Tinman Elite or Tinman himself, but the training system clearly works.
Is there a point when this style--layered intensity, focus on 10k intervals, moderate mileage, relative lack of VO2--will get copied by others? Or is the response just going to be "Tinman does nothing new, everyone does this" by coaches and athletes not getting the same results that he does?
I think there is time to start a thread about the new real top coach instead of this drivel about Tinman all the time. Time for the Brojos to make an interview with CoachJS, the Swedish online top coach.
Coach js and tinman are a lot alike you know...
Gusman used to post his training on Strava but has stopped. Solid mileage. Mid-to-high 80’s up to low 90’s.
Monday: 60 mins w/ 10x20s striders w/20s jog @ mile
Tuesday: Workout AM Gym & 20-30 mins easy PM
Wednesday: 60 mins
Thursday: Same as Monday + 30 mins PM
Friday: Workout AM Gym + 20-30 mins PM
Saturday: Same as Wednesday
Sunday: Long Run of 100-110 minutes at a moderate pace over rolling hills. 1-2 times a month they’d get after it more on the long run. 20-30 mins easy PM
