Other than a tone body and low heartrate, has anyone received a really big benefit during/as a result of running (i.e. find a soulmate, meet someone famous, find out something that changed your life, etc.)?

Besides finding a winning lottery ticket on a 10 miler and then buying a new Porsche and then meeting a super model wife who is Bi-sexual that loves to bring her friends over, no not much other benefit. Jussst Kidddding!!
Lets me eat all I want and not gain weight.
So keeps me healthy and also keeps me competitive.
Kept me off of drugs.........
It's got me laid many times over and over again
I've met some really great people in my running club who I value greatly as friends.
Speed goggles.
I met my fiance on the starting line of a 5k. We raced did our cool down together, waited for our prize money, and next year we're getting married. I'd say that's a pretty great thing running has done for me.
It gave me a hole brand new career and a fantastic liestyle
and still enjoying the ride.
it has increased the size of my penis.
ive met american and world record holders, made life long friends, paid for my college, traveled a bunch and gotten a good tan lean look for the beach all because of running. a few of my ex girlfriends were runners...but since they are all ex girlfriends i guess it couldnt have been that good of a thing...but then again the sex was great because they were in great shape and flexable so it was a good thing!
So many things; a sense of accomplishment from setting goals and achieveing them, health, friends, always having something interesting in my life, travel.

Good thing you added the "Jussst Kidddding!!" otherwise we would all have believed you.
You can outdistance that which is running after you, but not what is running inside you.
distances seem a lot smaller. before running, i would hear that something was 6 miles away and lose it because i thought there was no way to get there. now i just run there.
not that i recomend it but running has also helped me get away from the cops on a few occasions. its not like we were doing anything bad....a beer mile here...a lil trespassing there (the norm im sure). but its always good to be able to get away when you have to.
Flagplole- Your are a legend in these parts and I am honored that you replied to my thread even with sarcasm!
it's controlled the urges that i have to chop up my neighbors and bury them in the backyard
I found a $20 bill once. The lady I was running with must have thought I had gone crazy, I was so excited to have that money. I wss going through a low point financially and there was no "fun" money. I took my kids to the dollar movie theater that day and splurged on popcorn!
Seriously, the best thing that running has done for me is that it gave me confidence in who I am and made me feel good about myself. I have always been a hard working athlete but it wasn't until college when a very wise track coach took me under her wing because of potential she saw in me. I was good at lots of sports but I excelled at cc and track. Running makes me feel good to be me.
Running has saved me from marrying two bitches and beating the shit out of four others.
Out.
