Junior in HS here, just ran a mediocre last race and got bumped off of varsity so my season is officially at a close. I did walk away with a okay PR of 17:10, although I was really hoping to break 17. Did about 40 mpw during the summer, and then 45-50 during the season. I'm not going to be running track (schedule conflicts and coach problems) so I was wondering how I should train for the next 9 months until season rolls around again? Should I just build base or should I also consider running some halfs (maybe full) or maybe club indoor?
